This super easy hummus recipe is a healthy version of a traditional hummus recipe. This recipe is a fantastic alternative to high fat dips. 

Ingredients

  • 1 can chickpeas
  • Small amout of water from chickpeas (add as needed to achieve a smooth consistency)
  • 3 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 cloves of galic
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin

Put all ingredients in a food processor and blend to desired consistency.

Use Hummus as an appetizer or for a healthy snack served with flatbread (like pita), crackers or tortilla chips.  Hummus can also be used to complement grilled chicken, fish or eggplant. Garnishes such as chopped tomato, cucumber, sautéed mushrooms hard-boiled eggs, paprika, olives and pickles are also popular.
